The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) plays a pivotal role in the Risk and Market Surveillance department of Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX).

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify emerging risks and advise management and the Board on appropriate risk management strategies.
• Conduct comprehensive reviews of current or potential high-risk and high-profile activities within the organization.
• Collaborate with functional heads and staff at all levels to integrate risk management as an essential operational component.
• Deliver early risk management advice to the Board and senior management regarding new or unusual activities.
• Liaise with external advisors concerning control environments and ensure tracking and implementation of their recommendations.
• Advise and train employees on core and ongoing risk management issues including anti-fraud tactics and due diligence practices.
• Provide business continuity guidance and serve as a member of the Crisis Management Team when needed.
• Oversee all market surveillance operations, reporting findings related to market abuse or price manipulation directly to management.
• Ensure that robust information security controls are established and maintained throughout the organization.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Managing Director to support the mission of the Risk and Market Surveillance department.
