IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.
Job Overview/Summary:
Under the supervision of the Sr. Program Coordinator, the Senior Training Officer’s primary responsibility will be to coordinate Trainings, design, arrange and conduct trainings related to Disaster Risk Reduction and food security to flood affected populations in Sindh
Major Responsibilities:
Trainings
· Take Lead in conducting TNA and preparation of Capacity Building Plan for the targeted communities, Government Officials, Education department and the civil society networks
· Rollout capacity building plan by designing and conducting training workshops in collaboration with Project/Sector Managers as per project timelines and requirements
· Take Lead and Support Project/Sector Managers in Developing /Adapting modules for Trainings as per capacity building component of the project
· Conduct advanced training programmes for Village Disaster Management Committees (VDMCs) covering Hazard, Vulnerability and Capacity assessment (HVCA); Child Centered DRR, Child Protection, life Skills and safety measures.
· Conduct or contribute to Training programmes for teachers on School Safety, Risk and Resource Mapping and DRR planning
· Preparation & development of IEC materials around DRR, WASH
· Organizing training sessions and develop reports.
· Undertake any other tasks assigned by supervisor.
Day To Day Tasks Management
· Develop training reports and share with Line Manager.
· Maintain trainings records and develop data base of trained participants in both soft and hard forms
· Provide regular and follow up support to community mobilization officers for community trainings and sessions related activities

Position directly supervises: Hygiene Promotion team
Indirect Reporting: Sector Managers
Job Requirements:
Education:
Master Degree in Development studies, Disaster management, Communication or equivalent with experience in social work and/or other relevant discipline
Work Experience:
Total Work Experience 4 years having considerable command over PRA tools and techniques, Sector Experience 2 years
Experience of implementing best practices around community resilience building
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
· Advanced knowledge of software (Microsoft Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint),
· Strong interpersonal & team building skills and excellence as a team player
· Must have good communication skills, presentation and facilitation skills
· Ability to meet deadlines and remain cool under pressure; and
· Organized and ability to work independently
· Proven track and experience of training and IEC material development
· Experience in report writing;
Language Skills:
Strong English language skills both written and oral; knowledge of local languages including Sindhi
Desirable criteria:
Past work experience on integrated DRR projects
