Job Description:

Overview Of Position

  • Action Against Hunger is a globally renowned organization in taking innovative approaches to reduction of hunger and malnutrition.  
  • As an organization focused on ending world hunger, Action Against Hunger is primarily focused in Pakistan on ending nutrition insecurity both by addressing immediate and underlying causes.
  • Action Against Hunger believes that sustainability of our actions, relies on close engagement and collaboration with the Government of Pakistan.
  • Action Against Hunger considers Government of Pakistan as an ultimate stakeholder when it comes to dealing with reduction of hunger and malnutrition in all its form. In this regards,
  • Action Against Hunger considers it necessary that the key stakeholders have profound understanding of the framework in which we are working, be able to provide workable solutions to the government in an advisory role, advise on improvements to the frameworks/policies from a technical perspective and support review of implementation of policies by the Government.
  • This position is a career development opportunity within the ACF Program Development department.
  • This multi-functional department leads proposal development, communications and visibility and internal coordination across the country programme.
  • This department also supports donor reporting, advocacy and strategy as required.
  • The position will report directly to the Senior Program Development and Partnerships Coordinator who in turn reports to the Country Director

OBJECTIVES

Objective 1

To support development of proposals and concept notes in line with the ACF Pakistan and international strategies as well as donor requirements

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support in the identification of calls for proposals and concept notes and prepare drafts of opportunity analysis
  • Conduct desk reviews and identify innovative concepts that are relevant for nutrition sensitive and specific programming in Pakistan
  • Identify relevant lessons learnt from past programming of ACF

Objective 2

To support filing in hard and soft form

  • Tasks & responsibilities
  • Regular and comprehensive filing of departmental documentation.
  • Support the department in uploading the data in the No Hunger Forum (NHF) (online database)
  • Support in maintenance of grants records in soft and hard filling

Objective 3

To support internal coordination within the ACF Pakistan mission

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Support in coordination at country office and field offices for weekly and monthly meeting, and project closing meetings, including maintenance of attendance at meetings where required;

·         Arrange and minute regular internal coordination meetings.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory

Qualification:

University degree in any subject from a well reputed university.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Interest in the humanitarian and development sector;
  • Very strong written and spoken English abilities;
  • A strong willingness to learn;
  • Strong computer skills particularly word and excel;
  • Good analytical skills;
  • Commitment to working additional hours as required.
  • Willing to travel (if required)

Preference

  • Experience in the NGO/INGO sector;
  • Master’s degree;
  • Previous experience preparing proposals, reports and other documentation required for projects.
